Lets get it started
Good day fellas. Kind of a little late with this weekly blog. Week was very busy at work and I finally did some more training for the upcoming Triathlon on 17th of February. Fingers are crossed since this summer you can not really bet on the weather. Its either very windy, wet or hot. Nothing in between. And the event is supposed to start before 8AM, so the lake will be pretty cold and uncomfortable though. But anyway, it is gonna be a great day, a couple of friends will support me during the race and after the race, can not wait to give some long and sweaty hugs! To be honest, training is hard, a race like that will be hard. And I could not do it without this massive support. This is a real gamechanger. Knowing that people would come just for you to see you. To see you crossing that finish line. This helps a lot through moments when you want to quit and give up. It carries you. It pushes you. It makes you keep going. One more step at a time. Step by step. Stroke by stroke. Minute by minute. Until you finish. And I jsut finished a sprint triathlon on sunday as a last training before the challenge. Now it is time to rest, fill up them body with heaps of carbs and proteins and to get lots of sleep.
What else to say?
Last week hasnt been quite „exciting“ even though every day in New Zealand is still exciting. Sometimes exhausting. Draining. I was supposed to do an english test online wednesday afternoon and after three hours or trying to log in and after talking to 6 different „technicians“, we gave up and I rescheduled my appointment with a different company. So instead of saving time (by not traveling) I lost a lot of time and money. Since this company is doing no refunds, if your equipment is not up to date (even though I did an equipment check with them prior the test). So in a nutshell, 500 dollars: lost. 3 hours time: lost. English test done? NO 🙂
Solution? Just keep going. For the big picture. For the big goal. For New Zealand. And in the meantime, as I have told you last week, I am working on something different as well. I thought about this idea a lot. And I was not sure if I should do it or not. But I am very convinced now that it will work out. I am planning of publishing my blog about my Camino (the pilgrimage I did back in 2022) as an E-Book (german and english language) first and later on as a printed version on demand. It is quite a lot of work and it is also quite a lot of personal information, thoughts and emotions. But sharing these experiences in an honest, open-minded and funny way just feels right. So why not? What could be the worst that could happen? That no one reads it. Fair enough 🙂

Have a great week and I will talk to you next week after the Challenge.
Your DingyInternational
Felix
