Lets get it started

What a night! What an intense week of new input, new ideas and heaps of movies! There was the WAO film festival going on in Wanaka this week, the second time. WAO stands for „We are one“ and their purpose is to connect people and communites, to make people more aware of sustainability, being close to nature and being part of change. So went to some of those movies together with my friend Sammy. One of them „Common ground“ is about regenerative farming, not using any herbicides or insecticides and ending up with more profit, a healthier soil and hence healthier food. It was quite mind blowing to see the difference in farmland between conventional and regenerative farmland. This movie is a must see and shows how easy change can be. And how effective. And it does not have to come with heaps of industrial sprays or extras. WAO also offers online tickets so you can watch all their movies at home. Check it out – it definitly is a must-see!

Sky full of stars

Since there was a lot of sun activity, the chances of aurora have been pretty high. And what to say! It was not only a chance, it was crazy as! Purple, a little red, And the sky was dancing folks! In waves, in colors, for hours. Unfortunately, my new phone has no pro mode for the camera so I am not able (yet) to set up different settings like ISO and exposure to do some great shots but maybe there is an app (there is always an app haha). While being working all week long and just off this sunday, I am back with a little more training for Triathlon. There is no particular goal at the moment but I want to stay in shape and mroe important keep going with steady training. I realized that I need to become way faster in swimming and that my technique might not be the best. So for the next time, quality rather than quantity, lets do some technical training. On my day off, I was out and about, With the bike. It was freezing but when being in the sun it was amazing. Almost 60km today, felt a little tired and not as powerful as usual but well, I still enjoyed it a lot though! And feeling the fresh and cold air is definitly worth it. And almost no close accident today, for the first time.

What else to say?

Well, what else to say? I got some bad news this morning since my house mate, who is the main tenant of our house told me she wants me out of the house, which was quite a shock for me. She told me that I have people over way to often (four times in two weeks, it was one person most of the times) and that we are not a social house. Furthermore, she complained me being not clean enough (since I sometimes do not wash my coffee cup in the morning). Well, since I did not sign any agreement (stupid is as stupid does) I have to leave the house in two weeks. And to find a room in Wanaka, especially before the busy winter season, is as easy as finding water in the desert. Well, another challenge, another solution, another way. Another week of more challenges and more things popping up. But giving up is not an option.
And to end this weeks blog with something exciting, I already started to translate my book about my experiences on the camino in english. Will keep you folks updated!

See you next week
