Lets get it started

Good morning fellas. Kind of an interesting week. Even though I was just working, it was quite exhausting and seemed like a never ending one. Since I woke up at Thursday morning and felt pretty shitty. My throat felt pretty bad, I felt like being drunk without being really drunk. Out of energy. Out of motivation. Sick. And the same for one of my collegues. But we kept going through the days and tried to stay motivated and supportive to each of our customers. To support the company and out collegues as well.

Morning Vibes in Wanaka – Roys Peak ahead

Anyway, I am still sick. Fortnuately no COVID. But it seems like heaps of people in Wanaka are sick at the moment and something is going around. Well, so again no adventures in the mountains for me this week on my days off. And this is kinda shitty, since this gives me always a certain amount of energy and motivation to keep me going through the next week. So the only solution? Fresh made ginger tea with honey, lemon and orange. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. And no running or sports at all. And trying to be patient (and I am pretty bad at this one though 🙂 ) So my sunday off was about sleeping. Having a nice walk with Lisa in town, having some tea and some rest. Sleep. And tea again. And rest again. Like in a loop.

The challenges of Wanaka

As you might remember, my car kinda broke down last week at our way back from the Synthony concert in Queenstown. Just 15 minutes before Wanaka. Overheated engine. Leaking hose. Waterpump down. So I dropped it off at the AA center here in Wanaka, to get it checked and fixed. Quote: 1200 dollars. Waterpump, some hoses, rocker cover, working hours. Puh. Unexpected and overwhelming. Since almost all of my money in my account was necessary for my trip back to Germany and I was supposed to start saving money again now, not spending heaps of it. But since I need this car a little more, I will get it done and press thumbs. All of em‘.

Free Pizza and drinks after work

No car at the moment, sick and no big options for some nature adventures. No running. Just working, back home and sleeping. trying to calm down. All the things, I did not do back in Germany, while rushing from friend to friend. From event to event. This is it. The result of overpacing. I should have known it better.
But it is, what it is. And it is just a a period. It will pass. It will change. Things will get better again. This is just a matter of time. Of patience. And of being a little more gentle with myself. Selfawareness level up.

What else to say?

Since I got my new running shoes back in Germany, I tried them for a couple of times here in Wanaka. And hell they are awesome. Back in the game (before being sick). Back in a good pace and some nice runs. And looking for some new challenges. And in November, there might be one of those new challenges. Arrowtown backyard Ultra. A 6.7km loop, which you have to run every hour. If you get it done, you are in the next round. If not, you are out. Last man standing. Sounds pretty interesting and challenging. Or going for Queenstown Marathon in November as well. To beat my current best time or try to get it down below 4 hours. And try to figure out options to apply for residency by the way. It is never boring back in Wanaka.

Dingy back on track – Hoka Mach X

I hope I can tell you next week about new adventures and great moments. Have a great one, stay healthy, save and happy.
